Silage Corn

All Silage varieties that we offer have been proven on our farms for yield and quality. Not a quarter acre test plot. We are locally grown and locally tested. We want to make sure they will perform in a commercial environment. We also go one step further and make sure that your animals will perform using our lineup. We test yield and quality annually and only the best performers are what we offer. Every variety has been put through our own cows and only the top producers are what we offer.

Leafy Silage Corn

Leafy silage varieties have a lower ear position than a dual purpose hybrid, giving them a natural boost in fiber digestibility. Leafies have been bred to have kernels that contain more floury starch for a boost in starch digestibility. A leafy will have very good spring vigor and will produce a very thick canopy. Leafies are also bed to flex and not snap in adverse weather conditions. Leafies will also allow you a very long harvest window. It is very important to not plant leafies at a population more than 32,000 plants per acre.

Grain Corn

All grain varieties that we offer have been tested in local test plots before we ever put a product to market. We want to do as much as we can to help with a successful yield for you. We understand that margins are thin; so, we want to make sure you have the best possible varieties in your field. That’s why we spend so much time testing products that perform. If it’s not a top tier product in its plots you will not see it in our lineup.

Alfalfa

Just like our silage corn lineup we want only the top performing alfalfa’s as well. We believe in the same principal. If we would not grow it and feed it to our cows why would we sell it to you? Everything we offer in our alfalfa lineup has been grown locally on our farms and fed to our cows. The products that did not perform for us we guarantee we will not sell them to you.

Annual Ryegrass

Annual ryegrass is a versatile species that can be used for many agricultural purposes. Annual ryegrass has excellent forage quality and excels in both grazing and hay systems. Furthermore, it displays many characteristics that are beneficial in cover crop programs, including vigorous root systems that break soil compaction; rapid establishment; significant nutrient recycling; and soybean cyst nematode control. Ration Annual Ryegrass is a new diploid variety that shows excellent forage yields and cold tolerance. Ration can be planted in pure stands for both forage or cover crop purposes but also works well in mixes.
